Field Technician

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Environmental sampling of soil, water, groundwater, and air

Perform a wide variety of field duties for both routine/scheduled and emergency environmental projects to include: inspection, maintenance, monitoring, construction oversight, air monitoring, and sampling efforts at the project sites

Completes detailed, accurate field notes, photographs, and field sketches and prepares daily field reports in a timely manner

Collects samples from the field (soil, groundwater, surface water, drinking water, etc.) in accordance with established procedures

Maintains and operates field equipment/instrumentation as needed in accordance with specified procedures

Experience and Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of field experience

B.S. in environmental science, biology, or related field is preferred

1 - 2 years of wetland delineation experience is preferred

Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently if required.

Strong team-player skills.

Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Ability and willingness to travel regionally and overnight 50-75% of the time (including working outdoors in adverse weather conditions)

Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills

Attention to detail along with strong organizational skills

Strong problem-solving abilities and aptitude

Positive attitude; good interpersonal skills

Must pass a pre-employment drug test and will be subject to random drug & alcohol testing.

Follow all safety and security procedures.

Ensures the safety of all crew members, clients, and the public

Represent Sphere 3 Environmental while interfacing with public and private sector clients and the general public.
