Key Responsibilities:
Install and Maintain: Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain structured cabling systems (Cat5/Cat6, fiber, coax).
Cabinet & Conduit Work: Perform conduit installation, cable dressing, and termination inside IDF/MDF cabinets.
Device Setup: Install and configure CCTV and network devices.
Project Leadership: Lead small teams on multi-week projects to ensure timely, safe, and budget-conscious delivery.
Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints and site maps.
Aerial Work: Operate BOOM and/or scissor lifts to work at heights up to 40+ feet.
Testing & Compliance: Conduct system testing and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.
Communication: Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Qualifications:
Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience in low-voltage systems, structured cabling, networking, and CCTV.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of fiber optic termination, network infrastructure, and Point-of-Sale (POS) deployment/troubleshooting.
Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the last 3 years).
Transportation: Reliable personal transportation.
Tools: Must possess basic telecom tools and standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Leadership: Comfortable working independently and leading small teams.
Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel extensively (4–6 weeks at a time) and work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.
Highly Desirable Skills (Preferred but Not Required)
Industry certifications: BICSI, OSHA, MSHA, AVIXA CTS, Panduit, Belden, or Corning.
Hands-on experience with fusion splicing.
Experience running DSX cable certification testing.
