About the role

AI Proficiency at Sword Health

AI fluency is a core expectation at Sword Health. Every candidate is assessed against our three-level framework — be ready to share real examples of how AI is already part of how you work.

Explorer (Level 1) — Uses AI daily to boost personal productivity

Builder (Level 2) — Creates workflows and tools that elevate the whole team

Integrator (Level 3) — Embeds AI into products and processes at scale

Every hire must demonstrate at least Level 1. The expected level will vary depending on the seniority of the role.

What you’ll be doing

Member support via three-way chat: Work alongside members and Phoenix, our AI lifestyle assistant, to deliver personalized nutrition guidance and lifestyle coaching primarily through in-app chat.

Oversee care plans and intervene when needed: Monitor individualized nutrition and lifestyle plans within Sword’s internal systems — covering nutrition, movement, sleep, and behavioral health — and step in with direct guidance, including adjusting individual member guardrails when members need clinical input or additional support to stay on track.

Monitor health data and intervene: Track connected device data (smart scales, blood pressure monitors, glucometers) and engagement patterns, stepping in directly when members need nuanced guidance, report symptoms, or require a human connection.

Provide accountability, encouragement, and personalized lifestyle guidance to help members build habits they can sustain.

Share qualitative member feedback with the product and clinical teams to help improve the experience.

What you need to have

RD/RDN credential: Active Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential in good standing.

CDCES certification: Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist designation, required.

3+ years of clinical experience: Background in nutrition counseling within cardiometabolic, diabetes, or lifestyle medicine settings.

Behavioral coaching experience: Demonstrable experience in behavioral coaching, including lifestyle habit formation, motivational interviewing, and long-term wellness support.

Tech-savvy and self-directed: Comfortable working within app-based platforms and remote care tools, with the drive to thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous environment.

Evidence-based nutrition knowledge: Deep familiarity with protocols for hypertension, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, weight management, and GLP-1 support across diverse member profiles.

A plus if you have

Familiarity with GLP-1 therapy and its nutritional implications, including titration timelines, common gastrointestinal side effects, protein and micronutrient prioritization strategies during active weight loss, and lean body mass preservation considerations for members on semaglutide or tirzepatide.

Experience in lifestyle or wellness coaching (e.g. weight management, behaviour change).

Familiarity with digital health or AI-assisted tools.

Experience working at digital health and fas-t faced technology companies.
