About the role
What You Bring
Precision and clinical expertise: You perform the full spectrum of non-invasive cardiac and vascular ultrasound studies—2D, 3D, contrast-enhanced, strain, and M-mode echocardiography with Doppler and color flow, plus arterial, venous, carotid, and peripheral vascular exams—in full accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols. You obtain accurate diagnostic images, Doppler waveforms, and measurements, and you evaluate your own work for diagnostic completeness before it reaches the interpreting physician.
Clinical judgment and communication: You understand cardiac and vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology at a level that lets you recognize abnormal findings in real time and communicate significant observations to physicians clearly and without delay. Your hemodynamic assessments are thorough, your escalation instincts are sharp, and you do not wait to be asked when something needs attention.
Mastery of standards and systems: You are proficient in PACS, RIS, EMR, and Studycast systems. Your documentation is accurate, complete, and entered in real time. You maintain equipment through routine QC checks, follow infection control and HIPAA standards without exception, and keep your certifications and competencies current.
Agility and autonomy: You manage your own workflow in a high-volume outpatient environment, adapt when exam complexity or patient needs shift mid-appointment, and keep things moving without needing constant direction. You work well independently and bring the same standard to every exam—whether it is your first of the day or your last.
Patient empathy: Every patient receives your full attention—a clear explanation of the procedure, a thorough review of clinical history, and genuine care for their comfort throughout what can be an emotionally significant exam. You meet patients where they are and handle every interaction with dignity and professionalism.
Mentorship and professionalism: When students or new staff need support, you step up. You share your clinical instincts, model protocol compliance, and participate in quality improvement initiatives that make the whole department stronger.
What You'll Gain
Purpose-driven work: At SimonMed, you are part of something bigger than any single scan. The #1 reason people stay is the sense of purpose that comes from delivering advanced outpatient imaging that directly impacts patient diagnoses and outcomes. In echo and vascular, that purpose is tangible—your images help detect heart disease, identify vascular abnormalities, and guide treatment decisions that change lives.
A collaborative team environment: Join a team where support, communication, and shared clinical standards are the norm—not the exception. Our collaborative culture is the reason our technologists stay and thrive.
Flexibility and work-life balance: No trauma bays, no overnight on-call, no unpredictable ER surges at 2 AM. You get the predictability of an outpatient schedule—with holidays off and a shift that ends when it is supposed to.
Efficient workflows and advanced technology: We invest in modern ultrasound systems so you are working with equipment that supports high-quality cardiac and vascular imaging—not fighting outdated hardware to get a diagnostic result. Our efficient workflows mean you can focus on clinical excellence—not administrative friction.
High clinical standards in advanced imaging: At our scale, the case mix keeps your full skill set active—echo, strain, contrast, Doppler, and vascular studies across a diverse patient population. SimonMed's commitment to high clinical standards and advanced protocols means your expertise is always in use and your clinical judgment is always sharpening.
A career path, not just a job: As a national network, we offer internal mobility, cross-training opportunities, and a clear path forward—whether that is expanding into additional ARDMS specialties, moving into a lead sonographer or training role, or growing into leadership. As we continue to expand across markets, new opportunities are created for technologists to advance. Your registry credential is the foundation—what you build from here is up to you
