About the role

Key Responsibilities:

Perform visual, physical, and dimensional inspections of machined parts, including incoming, in-process, and final inspections

Inspect parts against engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection plans to verify conformance

Perform inspections of critical features and witness inspections as required

Verify that the appropriate inspection methods and measurement equipment are being used based on drawing requirements

Review and validate inspection plans and supporting quality documentation

Compile final inspection sign-off sheets and inspection packages

Identify and document non-conformances (NCRs) and submit findings for customer disposition

Review and validate justification for features or parts not inspected during final inspection

Accurately document and maintain inspection results within the Quality Management System (QMS)

Required Qualifications:

Hands-on experience performing mechanical and dimensional inspections

Working knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements

Experience reviewing Certificates of Conformance (CoCs) and other quality documentation

Working knowledge of GD&T and dimensional inspection methods

Proficiency with precision measurement tools and inspection equipment , such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances

Experience following inspection plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria

Ability to accurately document inspection results and work within an established Quality Management System (QMS)

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and document non-conformances

Preferred Qualifications:

Current or previous GD&T certification in accordance with ASME Y14.5

High school diploma, GED, or technical school diploma; an engineering or related technical degree is a plus

Knowledge of mechanical contract manufacturing and Lean manufacturing principles

5+ years of manufacturing experience , including at least 2 years of hands-on mechanical inspection experience
