Job Description
CSCI Consulting is seeking an Oracle Developer to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of mission-critical Oracle-based applications. The Oracle Developer will be responsible for participating in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and support. In this role, you will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and project leadership to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer requirements and support organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and support
Design, develop, and maintain Oracle database applications using PL/SQL
Develop and support Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports solutions
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and application designs
Create, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, packages, triggers, and functions
Perform unit testing and support system integration testing activities
Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve application defects and performance issues
Collaborate with business users, developers, and project teams to deliver application enhancements and new functionality
Maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and development standards
Support application deployment activities and post-implementation troubleshooting
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development best practices
Assist with database performance tuning and optimization efforts
Support existing Oracle applications and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and maintainability
Stay current with emerging Oracle technologies and development methodologies
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
2+ years of experience developing applications using Oracle technologies
Strong experience with Oracle PL/SQL development
Hands-on experience with Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports
Experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries and database objects
Experience supporting all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Experience performing application analysis, design, development, and unit testing
Active CompTIA Security+ certification
Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional presence
Preferred Skills
Experience developing applications using Oracle APEX
Experience modernizing legacy Oracle Forms and Reports applications
Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization techniques
Experience supporting enterprise or government systems
Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
Experience integrating Oracle applications with external systems and APIs
Understanding of application security and secure coding practices
Experience working in regulated or security-conscious environments
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and development tools
Strong customer service orientation and stakeholder communication skills
Experience supporting production environments and resolving complex technical issues
Relevant Oracle certifications are a plus
Experience with version control tools and automated deployment processes is a plus
Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
Past experience working with a state/local government agency
