About the Opportunity

LINK is actively seeking an Information Designer to join our dynamic team, where we collaborate with clients across a wide range of industries to create impactful visual stories that communicate complex ideas. You will be responsible for translating concepts into compelling visual products, including prototypes, wireframes, infographics, charts, and diagrams, to effectively convey both quantitative data and abstract ideas in print and digital formats.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative professional to apply human-centered design and design thinking principles to solve complex challenges and deliver visually engaging solutions. You will work closely with both internal teams and clients to understand their needs, develop intuitive information hierarchies, and create designs that support their goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Visual Journalism, Animation, Information Design, or a related field.

5–10 years of experience in graphic design, information design, visual communication, or a related field.

Active Secret Clearance required

Strong expertise in information design, visual storytelling, and communicating complex information through visual means.

Well-versed in a variety of design disciplines (e.g., information design, graphic design, brand development, experience design) and able to select the appropriate approach for a given challenge.

Strong understanding of information hierarchy, visual communication principles, accessibility considerations, and human-centered design methodologies.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.

Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and craft.

Able to work independently while contributing effectively within collaborative team environments.

Approaches work with optimism, openness to new ideas, and a collaborative mindset.

Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud tools and the ability to leverage a variety of design technologies to create effective visual communication products across print and digital environments.

Responsibilities

Strategic Visual Problem Solving

Partners with cross-functional teams, including strategists, researchers, engineers, and subject matter experts, to understand client challenges and communication objectives.

Applies human-centered design principles to develop visual solutions that align audience needs, stakeholder priorities, and business objectives.

Translates quantitative and qualitative data, research findings, and complex concepts into clear visual formats that communicate insights, opportunities, and recommendations.

Develops information hierarchies, visual frameworks, and communication structures that improve comprehension, navigation, and usability.

Guides visual approaches that help stakeholders understand complex systems, processes, concepts, and strategic initiatives.

Independently manages design workstreams while balancing quality, deadlines, and client expectations.

Visual Design & Information Products

Develops high-quality visual products including infographics, dashboards, charts, diagrams, presentations, wireframes, prototypes, and decision-support materials.

Creates custom vector illustrations, iconography, visual frameworks, and supporting graphic assets that communicate complex concepts and strengthen visual storytelling.

Translates technical, operational, research-driven, and abstract content into compelling visual narratives that support stakeholder understanding and decision-making.

Reviews visual products for accessibility and Section 508 compliance considerations and incorporates inclusive design principles into design solutions.

Develops and improves reusable templates, visual standards, and design systems that improve consistency and efficiency across engagements.

Applies advanced visual communication principles to improve clarity, usability, audience engagement, and information retention.

Collaborative Design & Iteration

Collaborates effectively with internal and external stakeholders to develop visual solutions that address client objectives and user needs.

Facilitates design discussions, working sessions, and collaborative reviews that strengthen project outcomes.

Uses visual prototyping techniques to explore concepts, communicate ideas, and align stakeholders around potential solutions.

Synthesizes feedback from clients and teammates into actionable design improvements.

Balances multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and craft.

Brand & Creative Execution

Applies and adapts established brand standards and visual guidelines across a wide variety of communication products and formats.

Develops client-specific visual identities, branded assets, and communication materials that support project goals.

Demonstrates strong visual judgment in typography, layout, composition, color, hierarchy, and information organization.

Ensures visual products maintain consistency while effectively addressing audience needs and communication objectives.

Brings creativity, curiosity, and a problem-solving mindset to complex design challenges.

Interactive & Digital Media

Explores opportunities to communicate information through a variety of digital and interactive mediums, including websites, dashboards, applications, motion graphics, video, and other emerging formats.

Helps identify the most effective medium or combination of media to communicate information, engage audiences, and support desired outcomes.

Contributes to the development of interactive, digital, and multimedia experiences that improve audience understanding and engagement.

Applies storytelling principles across a range of communication channels and formats.

Demonstrates curiosity and adaptability when exploring new communication mediums, technologies, and platforms.

Work Schedule

Hybrid, 2-3 days per week on-site

Full time, 40 hours per week

Some travel required to attend relevant events and conferences, and participate in LINK team events

Salary: LINK is committed to offering competitive compensation. While the salary range for this position is $71,000 - $97,000 , your final offer may be adjusted based on factors such as experience and location.
