As an LVN, you will work under the direction of licensed medical personnel and/or Registered Nurses to support patient care, perform focused nursing assessments, and assist with examinations and treatments in accordance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act. A Day in the Life of an LVN

Obtain, evaluate, and document patient histories

Measure and record vital signs

Assist licensed medical staff and/or Registered Nurses during patient examinations

Draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis as needed

Prepare and administer medications according to the Five Rights of Medication Administration

Perform routine diagnostic and laboratory procedures

Manage referrals, including processing, tracking, and closing referrals upon receipt of consultation reports

Receive and document STAT calls from Quest and ARA and communicate results to providers

Complete data entry within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, including lab results, hemoglobin, and lead screenings

Coordinate authorizations and identify in-network service providers for speech, occupational, and physical therapy referrals

Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program

Current and valid Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications

Previous nursing experience in a clinic or outpatient setting

Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR)

Bilingual English/Spanish skills
