Your Mission

Drive the growth and quality of Catawiki’s German, Austrian and Swiss Expert Post War Art & Prints category by sourcing, evaluating and curating artworks across key historical periods and movements. You ensure a strong, commercially viable pipeline of lots, combining deep art-historical expertise with market insight. You contribute directly to category performance by building supply, strengthening seller relationships and delivering high-quality curation that meets both collector expectations and market demand.

What You’ll Do

Source, evaluate and curate artworks across German, Austrian and Swiss Post War Art & Prints, ensuring a strong and relevant auction pipeline

Assess a high volume of submissions with varying value, maintaining consistent quality and accuracy in selection decisions

Write expert lot descriptions, set estimates and recommend reserve prices aligned with current market conditions

Build and convert a pipeline of sellers by visiting prospects, running meetings and providing clear commercial guidance

Partner with Account Managers to design and deliver single-seller auctions and execute seller growth strategies

Represent Catawiki at fairs and industry events to strengthen market presence and secure high-quality consignments

Develop and maintain relationships with galleries, dealers, collectors and institutions to drive consistent supply and category growth

What You’ll Bring

Proven expertise in German, Austrian and Swiss Post War Art & Prints including appraisal, provenance research and pricing

Experience in gallery management, auction houses or art dealing within European art markets

Strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, convert leads and grow seller relationships

Established credibility and network within German-speaking art markets

Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with experts, sales teams and cross-functional stakeholders

Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities

Fluency in German and English, with additional languages considered a plus

This is a full time, fully remote role based in Germany.

Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam and Lisbon are designed to inspire collaboration. Most Catawikians operate in a hybrid setup, combining office-based and remote work, with a minimum of two days per week in the office, unless a role is explicitly stated as fully remote or fully office-based.
