Your Mission

As a Pokémon and Trading Cards Expert based in Japan, you will grow Catawiki’s Japanese Trading Cards supply by curating high-quality auctions and connecting Japanese market trends with European collector demand.

You will bridge Japan and Europe through strong curation, seller onboarding, and data-driven insights, positioning Catawiki as a trusted destination for Japanese Trading Cards.

What You’ll Do

Evaluate and approve submitted lots based on authenticity, condition, grading, and market demand

Build weekly auctions featuring Pokémon, MTG, One Piece, Dragon Ball, Yu-Gi-Oh and other major Japanese TCGs

Identify early Japanese trends such as scarcity, promos, limited releases, and translate them into strong auction content

Onboard and support Japanese sellers, guiding them on listing processes, pricing, grading expectations, shipping standards, and dispute prevention

Spot supply opportunities including exclusive sets, early releases, and graded cards, acting quickly within quality standards

Bridge Japanese supply and European demand by translating market movements into commercially relevant actions

Analyse auction performance and buyer behaviour to refine curation and identify growth opportunities

What You’ll Bring

Deep expertise in Japanese Trading Cards, including Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, Dragon Ball, Yu-Gi-Oh, and other TCGs

Strong understanding of rarity, grading, sealed products, and trading card market dynamics

Proven experience buying and selling trading cards both online and in person

Established local network in Japan including card shops, dealers, wholesalers, distributors, and grading communities

Understanding of European trading card demand and cross-market dynamics

Fluency in Japanese and English, with the ability to educate and support sellers clearly and diplomatically

Confidence using data and digital tools to guide pricing, curation, and performance decisions

Work remotely with colleagues primarily based in Europe

Take a proactive, organised, and independent approach while aligning with team goals

Where You’ll Be

The role is fully remote role based in Japan , with daily collaboration with teams in Japan and across Europe.

Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam and Lisbon are designed to inspire collaboration. Most Catawikians operate in a hybrid setup, combining office-based and remote work, with a minimum of two days per week in the office, unless a role is explicitly stated as fully remote or fully office-based.
