About the role
Job Description
CSCI Consulting is seeking an experienced SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) Functional Lead to support a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation program within a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. This role will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of global trade compliance, export controls, and customs management processes within an integrated SAP landscape.
The selected candidate will serve as the functional subject matter expert for SAP GTS and partner across transportation, logistics, and finance teams to ensure compliant, auditable, and scalable trade operations aligned with U.S. and international regulations.
Responsibilities
Serve as the SAP GTS Functional Lead and SME, owning design, configuration, and delivery of GTS capabilities
Lead implementation of global trade compliance, export controls, licensing, and customs management solutions
Provide strategic direction for GTS architecture and integration with SAP S/4HANA and related modules
Ensure SAP solutions align with U.S. and international trade regulations; design auditable, compliant processes
Identify compliance risks and implement mitigation strategies, internal controls, and audit readiness practices
Lead integration of SAP GTS with TM, SD, and other modules to embed compliance within logistics and order execution processes
Collaborate across cross-functional teams (MM, EWM, Finance) to enable end-to-end process alignment
Act as a functional lead in an Agile environment; guide solution design, mentor team members, and support Agile ceremonies
Lead requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, and translation into scalable SAP solutions
Oversee testing (SIT/UAT), deployment, and post-go-live stabilization while ensuring data integrity, reporting, and continuous improvement
Minimum Requirements
Active Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Information Systems, or related field
8+ years of SAP functional experience with deep expertise in SAP GTS
Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA environments and integrations
Strong knowledge of global trade compliance regulations, export controls, and customs processes
Experience working in Agile delivery environments
Demonstrated ability to lead functional design efforts and influence stakeholders
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional presence
Preferred Skills
Experience supporting DoD or federal logistics and transportation programs
Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, and U.S. export control regulations
Experience integrating GTS with SAP modules such as TM, SD, MM, and FI/CO
Experience with Agile frameworks such as SAFe
Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
Past experience working with a federal agency
Department of War, etc. experience is a plus!
