Benevity is looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our Finance team. In this role, you will manage payroll operations, ensuring precise calculation of wages, taxes, and deductions. Working closely with the Senior Payroll Specialist and People Team, you will process payroll, update and maintain employee data, address payroll-related inquiries, and maintain regulatory compliance. As a global organization, Benevity employs individuals across Canada, the United States, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

What you’ll do

Payroll Processing: Manage the end-to-end payroll process for all employees, including salary, bonuses, deductions, and leave balances. Involvement from the entry of data right to the release of funds to payroll processors. Work with the people team to ensure payroll changes are received as required and translated to timely deposits to employees

Compliance: Stay updated with changes in payroll-related laws and regulations. Ensure payroll operations are compliant with federal, state/provincial, and local requirements

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records for all employees

Prepare reports detailing payroll activities for management review

Issue Resolution: Serve as a professional point of contact for employees regarding payroll inquiries and issues. Resolve any discrepancies or errors in payroll in a timely and efficient manner

Accounting: Reconciliation of payroll general ledger accounts to supporting data

Expense Reports: Expense report data entry and review/approval

Analysis: Pay-period to pay-period analysis

Process documentation: update internal documentation for global payroll processes, timelines, updates, and deadlines

Benefits Administration: Enrolling and ensuring accurate payroll deductions

Payroll System Management: Utilize payroll software to process payroll. Recommend and implement improvements to payroll processes and systems for increased efficiency and accuracy

What you’ll bring

Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll administration or a related field, with expertise in full-cycle payroll processes

Proficient with cloud-based payroll systems, including ADP (Canada), JustWorks (U.S.), and DEEL (International)

Knowledgeable about Canadian and U.S. payroll tax and wage regulations

Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively

Strong numerical and analytical capabilities

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Skilled in handling sensitive information confidentially

Experience with Oracle Netsuite ERP is a valuable asset
