How You Fit In

We are looking for a driven and entrepreneurial Sales Leader to spearhead Bidgely's growth in India. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role where you will own the end-to-end sales cycle — from prospecting and relationship building to deal closure — with both state-owned

DISCOMs and private utilities across the country.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can navigate the complexities of selling to large public and private sector organizations, and is passionate about the energy transition and digital transformation of utilities.

What You’ll Do

Business Development & Pipeline Management

● Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities with state-owned DISCOMs and private utilities across India

● Build and manage a robust sales pipeline aligned to annual revenue targets

● Lead end-to-end sales cycles including prospecting, discovery, proposal, negotiation, and contract closure

Consultative Selling

● Develop a deep understanding of each utility's operational challenges, digital transformation priorities, and regulatory context

● Position Bidgely's UtilityAITM solutions — including customer engagement, energy efficiency, EV analytics, grid analytics, energy theft detection, and demand response — as strategic solutions to utility pain points

● Conduct compelling product demonstrations and executive-level presentations tailored to each stakeholder's priorities

Stakeholder Engagement

● Build and nurture C-level and senior leadership relationships across technical, commercial, and regulatory functions within target accounts

● Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder procurement processes common in government and large private enterprises

● Collaborate with government bodies, regulatory authorities, and industry associations to stay close to policy developments affecting the utility sector

Market Intelligence & Strategy

● Monitor the Indian utility landscape including policy shifts, smart metering rollouts, RDSS scheme progress, and energy transition mandates

● Provide actionable market feedback to Bidgely's product and leadership teams to inform go-to-market strategy for the India market

● Identify partnership opportunities with system integrators, consultants, and other ecosystem players

Cross-functional Collaboration

● Work closely with Bidgely's global product, pre-sales, and delivery teams to ensure seamless handoffs and successful implementations

● Represent Bidgely at industry conferences, utility forums, and government events

What Makes You Successful

Experience

● 10–15 years of overall experience in B2B enterprise sales, with at least 5 years selling to utilities, power sector companies, or government energy organizations in India

● Demonstrated track record of closing large, complex deals with long sales cycles in the public sector and/or regulated industries

● Experience selling SaaS, analytics, or technology solutions is strongly preferred; experience with smart metering, AMI, or energy management platforms is a plus

Skills & Competencies

● Strong consultative sales approach — ability to understand business problems and map solutions, not just sell products

● Excellent communicator and storyteller, capable of engaging both technical teams and C-suite executives

● Self-starter with high ownership mindset; ability to work independently with minimal supervision

● Strong commercial acumen with the ability to structure deals, handle procurement negotiations, and navigate government tendering processes

● Familiarity with India's utility regulatory landscape (CERC, SERCs, BEE mandates, RDSS scheme, etc.) is a significant advantage

Travel

● Must be willing and able to travel extensively across India to meet with utility clients, attend industry events, and build relationships on the ground
